jq here vs jq 1.7

jsonquery runs jq programs with jaq, a Rust re-implementation of jq. Everyday filters behave the same, but a few jq 1.7 features are missing.

Good to know

  • jaq lacks @csv, @tsv, IN, INDEX, JOIN, tostream, fromstream and truncate_stream; jsonquery adds them, and they work as in jq.
  • Not available: $ENV (use env), input, leaf_paths and toarray.
  • Assignment can't create several missing levels at once: {} | .a.b.c = 1 is an error here.
  • Available and handy: @base64, @uri, @html, @sh, @json, regex (test, capture, sub, gsub), reduce, foreach, limit, first, walk, paths, getpath, to_entries, with_entries, group_by, unique_by, min_by and max_by.
